On 1st December 2009 we published the 4th edition of Experimenting with PIC C. Chapters 2 to 14: Training with 16F PICs using Hi-Tech PICCLITE within MPLAB IDE. In July 2009 we published Experimenting with PIC Microcontrollers Book 2. Training in the use of library routines to create professional software. On 1st December we released BSPWA version 4.1. Simulator: Simulates the red, green, yellow, and 2nd red LEDs. Simulates the content and operation of the LCD. Simulates the keys and operation of the keypad. Simulates the buttons and operation of the push buttons. Has precise clock cycle counter for measuring exact run times. Single step, step over, run to label and run to return. Move to instruction without operating with UP and DOWN. Registers, LEDs and LCD are all updated while running code. One mouse click to step, run or move. Simulator operates for 16F and 18F PICs. Library: Libraries including real time are integrated into the programme. Fixed libraries instantly available and always the same text. Can be modified and saved to hard drive. Configuration: Current configuration setting displayed graphically. Preset configuration suitable for most projects. Configuration can be set in the text. New configuration is displayed if changed by building the code. New configuration is displayed if changed by loading a hex file. Update Information Our latest Windows assembler operates correctly with all current and all previous versions of our serial programmer module. The difference is that old versions of the programmer do not programme some of the latest PICs. But you must also bear in mind that the Windows versions of our assembler require Windows XP or Vista or later. These will not run within Window 98 or ME. This is not affected by the programmer module. One of our oldest serial programmer modules will operate perfectly on any XP or Vista computer providing it is driven using our latest Windows assembler. With a modern computer you may need to use a USB to serial adaptor. All Brunning Software serial programmers can be updated by changing the control PIC to the latest version. Original programmer with one 9 pin serial port: BSPIC919 is the latest control PIC. Latest programmer with two 9 pin serial ports: BSPICH0A is the latest control PIC. Finally, you must remember when updating that our latest Windows software requires the text to be typed as required by the official Microchip assembler MPASM. The programme has an integrated library of routines for driving the LCD and the keypad, so if necessary this can be used as examples of how to type the text. Update Options
New and Old Control PICs Recently the control PIC was updated to BSPICH0A. One feature was added with this update which is the ability to write data into the EE memory of 18F PICs. The previous version BSPICH09 can write data into the EE memory of 16F PICs but not 18F PICs. BSPICH0A - latest control PIC. BSPICH09 - all features except writing to 18F EE memory - perfect for all normal projects. BSPIC919 - programmes 16F and 18F PICs but has no oscilloscope facility. BSPIC428 - programmes 16F PICs. Does not programme 18F PICs. |
